Community Relations Manager
With more than 15 years of experience teaching and assisting individuals with severe learning, emotional and physical disabilities, Gail Laude is an invaluable addition to the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes as Community Relations Manager.
Beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education at Old Dominion University, Gail went on to stints with Virginia Commonwealth University and the City of Alexandria as a placement specialist, focused on finding employment for people with disabilities.
She later moved on to become a special education teacher in the Fairfax County Public Schools before moving to the private sector as a personnel manager with Accutek Assemblies, where she recruited individuals with significant developmental disabilities and helped integrate them into the team work environment.
In 2000, Gail returned to teaching special education students in the Loudoun County Public School System. Five years later, she was recruited to the Loudoun County Community Services Board Job Link Program, where she still works today as a vocational specialist assisting individuals with severe disabilities in obtaining community-based, equal employment opportunities of their choice.
Gail has two sons currently deployed overseas in the War on Terror. Her son Justin proudly serves in the Army, and Jonathan serves his country in the Navy.
