Sellers Brothers Annual Charity Fishing Tournament Raises $108,000

for Wounded Troops
Houston supermarket chain raises funds for Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes

 

Ossining, NY – June 30, 2007 - The Fifth Annual Sellers Brothers Charity Fishing Tournament at raised more than $108,000 for The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes (CSAH, www.saluteheroes.org), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping severely wounded War on Terror veterans and their families rebuild their lives.


The tournament was held on June 22 at Eagle Point Fishing Camp in San Leon.
All proceeds raised by the competing saltwater fishing teams benefitted CSAH.
CSAH National Spokesman Patrick Myers, a Houston-area resident who lost his legs
while deployed in Iraq, was among the fishermen competing in this year’s tournament.
Iraq War Veteran and CSAH National Spokesman J.R. Martinez, who suffered from lifethreatening burns on over 40 percent of his body, were also in attendance as an
honoree.


“The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes is grateful to Seller Brothers again this year
for their loyalty and significant contributions,” said CSAH executive director Ray Clifford.
“Sellers Brothers is helping us continue our important work to ensure brave veterans like
Patrick and J.R. receive the aid and thanks they deserve upon their return home.”


“We’re proud and excited to that our tournament was able to raise such a considerable
amount of awareness and funds to help our country’s injured servicemen and women,”
said Sellers Brothers Supermarkets Treasurer Johnny Sellers.
