Col. Charles Bogle

Chairman Emeritus, Ambassador

Colonel (Ret) U.S. Army Charles Bogle joined the Coalition’s Advisory Committee in March 2013. He joined the Board of Directors in 2017 and was named Vice Chair in December of 2018.

He was first introduced to the organization when he participated in the 2008 Road to Recovery Conference as a member of America’s Huey 091 Foundation. At the time, Bogle was endeavoring to identify candidates for the receipt of iBOT Mobility Devices.

Bogle is a Vietnam veteran, having served as a combat Army Aviator flying gunships and later as an instructor pilot at the Primary Helicopter School.  During his duty in Vietnam, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.  After leaving active duty, he remained in the U.S. Army Reserve for the balance of his 30 years of service, fulfilling a number of staff and command assignments that culminated in his achieving the rank of Colonel prior to retirement. His Reserve career was carried out concurrent to a successful career in the aerospace industry as an engineer and manager in support of space related products.

Bogle has been active as an officer in numerous military and civilian professional and service organizations. As a founding member of the Board of Directors, he continues to support the development of The National Vietnam War Museum near Mineral Wells, Texas. He has been active at the local and department level of the American Legion Department of Colorado, where he has served as Chairman of the Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Committee. In addition, he has been a member of the Fort Carson Retiree Council for over ten years, and is currently the Committee Co-Chairman.

During 2003-2004, Bogle supported the activities of the “America’s Huey 091 The Final Journey Home Foundation” as a coordinator and supporter of the Colorado segment of that effort, culminating with the placement of a Huey 091 helicopter in the Smithsonian Museum of American History. He has been active in the America’s Huey 091 Foundation in the support of severely handicapped veterans through efforts to provide mobility aids.  He holds the position of Vice President of the Board of Directors.

Bogle and his wife of almost 49 years have resided in Westcliffe, Colorado, since 2002.  They are the proud parents of two grown children that have a total of four grandchildren.
